About Alter Ego Dance
Alter Ego Dance Crews are fortunate to train in state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Hertfordshire’s Sports Village in Hatfield.
Alter Ego Dance Crew (adults) was formed in March 2006 by Brendon Hansford. His aim was to produce an amateur hip hop dance company bringing the ‘urban to the suburban’ & making hip-hop dance more accessible to people from Hertfordshire who struggle to travel in to London.
Alter Ego’s first performance was the South London Street Dance Championships 2006 where we won first place in the Teams Section. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, winning a number of competitions and performing in locations around the UK and also Europe.
We also now have a brand new youth crew which was formed and began training in May 2008. There are currently 30 dancers in the youth section aged 11-16.
The Crews are made up of people from all over Hertfordshire who have progressed and developed their ability through attending Alter Ego dance classes. The talent of our dancers is growing along with our repertoire of styles. As a group our aim is to keep pushing the boundaries of our own physical and mental abilities so as to continue to build-on our diversity. This will allow us to be even more versatile, and to evolve so we can keep up with the fast moving dance scene.
